Safeguarding

High Firs Primary School recognises our statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children. Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility and all those directly connected (staff, volunteers, governors, leaders, parents, families, and learners) are an important part of the wider safeguarding system for children and have an essential role to play in making this community safe and secure.

We have Designated Safeguarding Leaders who have responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of safeguarding and child protection systems (including online safety) in school.  Our DSLs are Mr Andrew Kilbride (Headteacher), Miss Carol Rennie (Deputy Headteacher / SENCO), Miss Ros Selby and Miss Alex Allin.

Reporting a concern

You can make an appointment with one of our DSLs to discuss any concerns you may have.  Alternatively, below is a form that you can use to raise any safeguarding concerns; this will be sent to our DSLs for their attention.  Please provide as much information as you can so that we have a full understanding of the circumstances and can respond promptly. However if you believe that a child is in immediate danger, please call the Police immediately on 999.
